Women in Action: A Conservation Speaker Series with Palmer

Do you have a passion for conservation and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment and in our community?

Mark your calendar for October 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and join Palmer for the inaugural Women in Action luncheon series. This exciting event and ongoing series promises to unite like-minded and passionate women in a quarterly gathering to build a future of conservation—together.

An Inspiring Lineup

At Palmer, we believe in the power of knowledge-sharing and community-building to forge a path forward for a healthy and vibrant future. That's why each quarter we feature a dynamic speaker who will delve into various conservation-related themes. We will host historians, artists, visionaries, chefs, water managers, public health and community leaders, and other change agents who will share their experiences, as well as their hopes, concerns, and vision for the future. Our goal is to ignite conversations, inspire action, and create a growing and supportive network of women who share a common goal: to protect land and water for the health and well-being of people and nature.

Meet Anna Cordova: A Steward of Nature and History

For our first Women in Action event this fall, we are thrilled to welcome Anna Cordova, the newly appointed Manager of Garden of the Gods Park and Lead Archaeologist for the City of Colorado Springs. Anna's work exemplifies a seamless blend of history and nature, as she strives to bridge the past and present to preserve our natural wonders and iconic landscapes. Anna will share about her personal and professional background and about her choice to focus her career on amplifying Indigenous voices regarding Indigenous science and traditional knowledge.

Anna's presentation promises to be a captivating journey through time and space, as she shares her experiences and insights into managing one of Colorado's most treasured natural landmarks. Her work not only involves the stewardship of the Garden of the Gods but also delves into the rich history of the region through archaeology.

Don't Miss Out!

As an added bonus, lunch will be provided at the event, ensuring you can nourish your body while feeding your passion for conservation. However, space is limited to thirty seats, so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible. Join us for an enriching event of connection, education, and empowerment. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the conservation issues that matter most to our community, our families, and our daily lives. Let's unite at Women in Action and advance towards a greener, more sustainable future. We look forward to seeing you on October 18!
