Find out during Palmer Land Conservancy's annual TENACITY: Women in Conservation event on March 13. The event will feature an on-stage conversation with Kate Greenberg, Nancy Henjum, and Andrea Miller, three remarkable women who have demonstrated an enduring and tenacious commitment to protecting Colorado’s wide-open spaces and precious natural resources.
The centerpiece of the evening will be an on-stage interview hosted by Rebecca Jewett, the President and CEO of Palmer Land Conservancy where we will hear about their challenges, triumphs, and the unwavering grit and determination they harness to do their work. Join others for fun and inspiring evening learning about the strength and resilience that defines these women and receive a few pearls of wisdom, offering hope for the next generation of land enthusiasts.

Meet Our Speakers
Kate Greenberg
Kate Greenberg was appointed to serve as Colorado’s first female Commissioner of Agriculture by Governor Jared Polis in December 2018. As Commissioner, Greenberg provides leadership and direction to the Colorado Department of Agriculture. She has served as president of the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association and the Western Association of State Departments of Agriculture, and as a board member of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. Prior to her role as Commissioner, Greenberg advocated for federal farm policy with the National Young Farmers Coalition out of Durango, CO, worked to restore Mexico’s Colorado River Delta, and farmed on various operations across the West.
Nancy Henjum
Nancy Henjum is the Colorado Springs City Councilmember for District 5, covering central Colorado Springs. She was elected to her first four-year term in 2021. Nancy is a 30-year resident of City Council District 5. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University in Chicago, where she worked as a clinical therapist before moving with her husband to start a family in Colorado Springs.
Nancy’s professional life in Colorado has included being the Chief Operations Officer for a public-private partnership that managed behavioral health services for 43 of the 63 counties in the state. She was also a faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership, engaging in leadership development and executive coaching. She runs her own leadership consultancy business, working with a wide variety of organizations, both large and small, including energy companies, arts groups, non-profits, and civic entities.
Aside from being and working with people, Nancy’s greatest joy—as is true for many Coloradans—comes from nature and the outdoors: hiking, biking, birding, and gardening.
Andrea Miller
Andrea Miller is the founder and CEO of YourTango, the leading online magazine dedicated to love and relationships.
