On September 23, 2015, Palmer Land Trust will honor four conservation trendsetters at our 6th Annual Southern Colorado Conservation Awards (SCCA).

Each year, Colorado loses an average of 90,000 acres of land to development. This type of land conversion impacts the Coloradoan's very own identity in the wild west by converting large open spaces, significant wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, historic farms and ranches, and those scenic views that fill our backyards. But each year, Southern Colorado tackles those threats with some of the greatest successes in land and water conservation - successes that are championed by people who devote their lives to the protection of this unique region by making innovative, educational, and advancing strides to ensure a sustainable future. On September 23, 2015, Palmer Land Trust will honor four of these conservation trendsetters at our 6th Annual Southern Colorado Conservation Awards (SCCA).

Each award recipient will be featured in a short film produced by Denver-based film maker, Blake Kimmel. Year after year, these films captivate and inspire the audience - something you certainly will not want to miss!

The event is at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, beginning at 5 p.m. with a cash bar cocktail hour. A locally and seasonally derived farm-to-table dinner will follow at 6 p.m. prior to the start of the awards ceremony. The cost is $75 per person, with a recently created Young Professionals (working professionals 35 years of age of younger - limited quantity) price of $40.
